Winchelsea pop-up clinic set to boost locals

Tuesday, 22 March 2022

The Barwon Health South West Public Health Unit (BSWPHU) in partnership with the Winchelsea community is preparing for a vaccination pop-up clinic to help improve the town’s third dose vaccination rates.

The clinic will be held at the Winchelsea Community Hub on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 March.

Barwon South West Public Health Unit Co-Director Deb Kay hopes the clinic will support the local community getting their booster and improve the town’s third dose vaccination rates,

“Our team are working with Hesse Rural Health the local community health service, who have helped us select a pop-up location which is convenient for the community. We hope this pop-up will help improve booster dose rates and rates for children aged 5-11 years,” she said.

Carissa Brock, CEO of Hesse Rural Health believes the pop-up will help reduce barriers to access for those in the community yet to have their booster,

“Our community have come together throughout the pandemic to support each other. We have been so pleased with their response to getting vaccinated and we hope this pop-up will make it easier for those needing their booster dose.”
