Feeling unwell and concerned you may have COVID?

Here are a few reminders and tips as we enter the festive season:

📌 Getting tested as soon as possible is important to ensure you don't spread the illness.

📌 If you are at high risk of severe disease, speak to your GP before the public holidays to discuss a plan, including ways to access antiviral medications, should you become unwell with COVID.

📌 From January 1 a GP referral will be required for a PCR test. If you are eligible for antivirals (click here for eligibility details) see your GP as soon as possible so they can refer you for a PCR and also assist with prescribing antiviral medications.

📌 If you are unable to access a GP due to public holidays or appointment availability, take a rapid antigen test. By reporting your rapid antigen test, the Barwon South West Public Health Unit can then support you if you are at high risk of severe disease. Report your positive test here.

📌 If you require a rapid antigen test, these can be purchased at pharmacies. Free tests are also available at some testing sites and at Barwon Health Community Health Centres in Belmont, Torquay, Corio and the Vaccination Centre in Belmont.

📌 Have a few tests at home in case you become unwell over the public holidays. If you are symptomatic, and haven't tested positive, keep testing daily.

📌 If you test positive, it is recommended you isolate for at least 5 days or until you don't have symptoms. anymore.

❗ If you or a loved one begins to experience shortness of breath, dizziness, or concerned about your wellbeing, please contact your GP. If it is an emergency dial 000.

☎️ If you are unable to contact your GP, you can contact the Barwon Health's COVID hotline on 1300 942 241.
