Testing teams continue to support local communities

Tuesday, 12 October 2021

As restrictions continue to ease across the State, people across the Barwon South West are still doing their bit to protect their community by getting tested.

As COVID-19 cases are identified across the Barwon South West region, testing teams are providing support and offering pop-up testing where required.
There are currently over 300 active cases in the Barwon South West region.

COVID Infection Prevention Community Response Consultant at South West Healthcare Jenny Lukeis said their team is ready to support the community when outbreaks occur.
"With regional areas now open to the wider state, we are seeing cases pop up in our area, however our teams are able to provide a swift response with pop-up testing when needed."

"As vaccination increases we expect these pop-up testing sites will be required less and less, however during recent outbreaks it was really encouraging to see our community come together and get tested to protect the community."
