100,000 doses to help protect community

Friday, 25 June 2021

As the Barwon South West Public Health Unit continues to roll out the COVID-19 vaccination program across the region, the program reached an impressive milestone last month as the 100,000th dose was administered.

Associate Nurse Unit Manager Alison, who was part of the team that administered the 100,000th dose was excited to be a part of the program and being a part of history.

“I enjoy being a part of the team here at the vaccination hub, and knowing that I’m doing my part to help protect our community really makes me proud. This has never been done before, so to see the number of people we are vaccinating is really pleasing.

“100,000 doses is an amazing milestone for all of our team across the Barwon South West.” she said.

Barwon Health CEO Frances Diver said the healthcare workers throughout the Barwon South West region worked together to ensure communities across the region are protected from COVID-19.

“We have healthcare workers from here in Geelong right through to Portland working together to rollout the vaccination program to people in regional areas, alongside our General Practitioner colleagues.”
