The Barwon Health Immunisation team are offering staff vaccinations in the cafeteria on level 3 at University Hospital Geelong, the McKellar Centre’s Café 45 and other Barwon Health sites. The program runs for eight weeks.
The 2025 Barwon Health Staff Flu Program commences on 14 April. See timetable below. All sessions are open to all staff at every venue – no appointments needed.
Receiving an annual flu vaccine is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and those around you from the flu.
It is particularly important for healthcare workers who are in close contact with patients and at higher risk of contracting and spreading the virus. By getting vaccinated, healthcare workers can help prevent the spread of the flu to vulnerable patients and reduce the burden on healthcare resources during flu season.
*Please note that COVID boosters will NOT be available at the staff flu program. Staff will be able to get their COVID boosters from Belmont.

Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers: If you are a Category A or B healthcare worker, it is mandatory to receive the flu vaccine or have a valid exemption. You can receive the vaccine at your workplace, at pharmacies, from your GP or at the Belmont Community Vaccination Centre. Check the mandatory classification here.
